The Sumec Group, of which Firman is a part, is a major corporation that provides energy engineering construction and related services.

Sumec is a participant in Sinomach, which is part of the China National Machinery Industry Corporation.

This massive conglomerate provides both engineering services and construction machinery.

Fortune magazine annually compiles a list of the 500 best-performing firms in the world, and Sinomach is usually one of them.

Although Firman generators are relatively new to the markets in the United States and Canada, they have quickly earned a solid reputation among consumers.

As a company that values expanding their customer base and good name recognition, Firman places a premium on the quality of the generators they produce. Because of this, they are able to sell for significantly less than the majority of its top-tier competitors.

A Firman generator is a reliable option for those who don't want to pay as much as they would on a model from a more traditionally well known brand.

Firman Generator FAQs

Seven of the most often asked inquiries concerning Firman Generator:

Exactly what kind of backup power generator do I need for my house?

The distributor can offer guidance on Firman generator selection and installation. After determining your home's electrical needs, the distributor can help you specify and install the generator system.

How much oil should I put into my generator?

10w-30 oil is recommended for colder areas, whereas 20w-50 oil is recommended for use in warmer countries.

Why does using electrical appliances cause my generator to surge or tremble?

Industrial vacuums, tile saws, air compressors, and table saws can all demand up to three times their rated load while in operation. The usual running load for a 1 horsepower electric motor is about 1500 watts.

However, the initial load is higher than 4500 watts, which is the generator's maximum load. Initially, the compressor weighs 80–100 pounds, therefore if a stronger load is imposed, such as a larger amount of air being compressed, the compressor may struggle to keep up.

Even if there is air in the tank, the electric motor will keep turning at full speed until it achieves its running RPM. The same concepts are at play when a large piece of wood is being cut using a circular saw. When the voltage drops, the amperage can increase until it trips the circuit breaker.

Can I still use the generator even if the weather is poor?

Gensets can be used in a wide range of temperatures and climates, but they need to be protected from rust and short circuits. Do NOT use a generator indoors at any time.

Should the portable generator be grounded?

Yes. In order to prevent electrocution, the generator must be correctly grounded. If it is not properly grounded, you could get electrocuted.

How about using my generator inside?

No. Carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless gas that can cause serious illness or even death, is released by the generator engine when it is in use.

How do I start a generator?

First, make sure the AC breaker is off (the switch is left down). gas valve wide open (in the ON position).

Position the choke lever to its closed position.

Put the key in the "ON" position to start the generator.

For a smooth manual generator start, pull the recoil starter slowly at first to ensure proper meshing, and then speed up your pulls.

If the generator can be started electrically, turn the engine switch to START and keep it there for three to five seconds.

Troubleshooting

If your FIRMAN won't start when you need it to, most... Here are some things you can do to fix the problem.

The first time starting it

Did you use up every last drop of oil in the container? Due to the low oil sensor, the ignition coil will not ignite if the oil is too low.

Is there more than 2 gallons of gas in the tank?

All of the battery cables look healthy and are securely fastened to the battery. Make sure the fast connection on the black, negative battery cable is in place.

Both the fuel valve and the ignition switch are in the "I" (ON) position.

If the device does not start after one or two tries with the choke in the "START" position, you may need to try again with the choke in the "RUN" position.

Make sure the battery is fully charged

The spark plug wire is secured to the spark plug above the valve cover. If there is no spark at the plug, you should replace it. Use a certified repair shop if it turns out the problem is the ignition coil and not the spark plug.

When using a HYBRID generator, make sure the valve for the propane tank is fully open by turning it to the left. Ignition of propane is more challenging than that of gasoline. To get it going when you can't get it started by pressing the button, switch the choke from "START" to "RUN" and keep holding the button.

If you have a WHISPER series dual-fuel inverter, check the connection of the power wire at the regulator's end. In that case, the solenoid inside the regulator won't activate, and no propane will be able to flow through. You should also hold the battery-restoration button down for three seconds.

You have used it before, but it will not start now

Check the same things above, then try these -

The oil level can be checked by dipping the dipstick. Add oil if necessary. Oil changes should be performed every 100 hours.

There are no debris or oil stains on the air filter. In that case, you should wash the filter in warm, soapy water and then let it dry before using it again.

Both the spark arrestor and the muffler are free of obstructions and carbon fouling. If the substance is dark in color, it needs to be removed and cleaned using a wire brush or blown out with an air compressor.

Pull the spark plug out, inspect it for damage. Check for soot, grease, or black residue on an electrode or check if the spark plug is making a "pinging" noise when shaken. If you see any of this, it's time to change your spark plug.

Has it been more than a month since the fuel was last replaced. If gas has been sitting in the appliance for more than a month, it is likely that the jets in the carburetor or the emulsion tube have been clogged.

Disassembling the carburetor, immersing its parts in fresh gasoline for an hour, and then cleaning its orifices with carb cleaner should remedy the problem. Make contact with Tech Support for clarification.

Electric start button does not work

Make sure the battery is connected then hold down the restore switch for 3 seconds.

Check that the ignition switch is functional. You can check the start switch's backside by removing the control panel. Connect the two wires on the rear of the switch. If power is restored, the issue likely lies with the device's start switch, which must be replaced.

The solenoid that initiates the engine's rotation is not locked in place. Using a screwdriver with a rubber handle, bridge the connections on the starter solenoid by following the battery cables to the cylinder-shaped solenoid. If the machine rolls over or starts when the terminals are bridged, the start solenoid needs to be replaced.

If it doesn't, you'll need to charge or replace the battery since it's not delivering enough power to spin the starter.

Generator does not start with natural gas

For starters buy the natural gas from Firman, then if it works you can buy other brands. The hose's generator end must have a 3/8 female flare, and the hose's overall diameter must be 1/2 inches.

Keep these requirements in mind. Maximum of 101,000 BTUs. Pressure (psi) requirements provide for a range of 0.25 to 0.40.

Buying from Firman ensures the natural gas is a good fit for the generator.

Best Firman generators

Here are some of Firman’s best generators:

Firman P03601

For good reason, this is one of the most sought-after options among their range. If you need a reliable generator at a reasonable price, the Firman P03601 is one of your best bets.

There's a gasoline gauge and a 5-gallon tank in there. It has a maximum operating time of 14 hours per tank of petrol, albeit that time will decrease depending on how often you use full power.

This generator features a wonderful 4-in-1 data minder that allows you to easily keep track of where you are in the process and how much power is left. It keeps track of voltage, frequency, runtime, and oil use.

It is protected from accidental damage by an automatic low oil shutdown safety feature. Although it isn't ideal for powering a house as a backup generator, many reports exist of people using it to run essentials like refrigerators and freezers when the electricity goes out after a storm.

It's a good choice for camping because it's rather silent, but you'll need to invest in some additional wheels or trolly because it's heavy.

Firman W03083

Compared to the one it replaces, this generator is both more compact and more costly. For a generator of its size, the 9 hours of operation time from a 1.8-gallon fuel tank is rather impressive.

It is easily transportable because of its integrated wheels and features a "tuff-stuff" grip for added durability. The W03083 may be started remotely, a feature that is rarely found on rival generators but is particularly convenient in this case. It's also not too complicated to use.

It's versatile since it can be kicked off manually, electrically, or even from up to 168 feet away using a remote control. It operates at a very low 58 dB, which is much below the maximum level allowed by the National Park Service, making it one of the quietest options available.

It's an excellent portable option for camping. It's more expensive than the other generators on this list, but it's also more convenient to carry around.

Firman P03603

FIRMAN P03603 Portable Generator, 3650/4550-Watt, Remote Start, 14 Hour Run Time - Quantity 1

The P03603 is a fantastic choice whether you need a generator for a construction site, emergency preparedness, or a few days of hard camping.

It is one of the heavier generators here at 125 pounds, but it is still easily transportable because it has 8-inch "never-flat" wheels and a high-leverage folding handle.

If you're camping and want to switch on the air conditioning while you're still cooking outside, the included remote key fob could be a lifesaver.

If you're using this generator as emergency power during a disaster like a flood, you won't have to worry about finding the fob because it also has a starter button and a pull-string in case the battery dies. Which means it's got your back in every sense of the word.
